Blackboard Course Copy - training sessions have been scheduled at both DTC and PRC locations November 15 - 18. These sessions will be hands-on copying of your material into the available spring 2017 course shells. CLICK HERE to sign up for a session.  

Podcast Training - Blackboard Voice is no longer available for Podcasting in Blackboard. A new Podcasting training session is being developed to accommodate this need. If you currently use, or desire to use audio in your Blackboard courses, CLICK HERE.   

Atomic Learning – All faculty, students and staff have access to professional video tutorials housed in Blackboard. These videos offer “just in time” training assistance on a wide range of topics. CLICK HERE to watch a brief video on how to access Atomic Learning tutorials.

Office/Outlook 365 – There seems to be some confusion about using Office/Outlook 365. If you are a full time employee, the Outlook application on your desktop/laptop has not changed. You DO NOT have to access your email through a browser.

Training Sessions by Request!!

• Blackboard Basic is on the schedule for the first week of summer classes. If you would like one-on-one sessions, please click the "Request Training" link under our calendar.
• Several requests for the Excel and Word Tips sessions are being offered for those who missed them on Classified PDO day! Please click our calendar for dates and times!
• Outlook Mail Merge sessions aren't just for advising faculty! Several sessions will be offered the last week of May.
• The SharePoint sessions cancelled in March are back on track. Locate the date and time on the calendar and make sure to include topics you would like to cover!

Advising Mail Merge – Last Week of Sessions for full time teaching faculty will be held at Parham Road training lab Massey LTC Room 245.

Microsoft Office 2013 - Word, Excel and PowerPoint – Due to multiple requests from faculty and staff wanting to brush up on their skills, multiple Introductory Excel, PowerPoint and Word sessions have been added. Please see calendar for dates.

Google Drive – With your VCCS Gmail account, you have access to Google Drive. Google Drive allows you to store various types of files, to have access to your files remotely and to share your files with others elimination email distribution. Storing and sharing files in Google Drive is becoming increasingly popular among faculty and staff for document sharing, collaboration and storage for Google Sites. Note: Google Drive training is a prerequisite for developing a Google Site or Blogger.

SharePoint Workshops – We have received several requests for SharePoint training and are offering several sessions during the week of spring break. However, since everyone has various needs and questions, we will be conducting “workshops” to accommodate requests. Please submit topics you would like covered in the workshop by 5:00 PM Friday March 18, 2016 CLICK HERE to register.

YouTube – Begin using YouTube for your course videos. Blackboard limitations can hinder the use of multimedia in your courses. This session will cover creating a YouTube channel, uploading productions and successful distribution within Blackboard (and other locations). Media files will be provided for training purposes. Please see calendar for dates.
