Spring 2020 Training Opportunities!

January Training Sessions

Canvas Grades (2 Hours) Faculty
** Evenings & a Saturday Session: January 7-11 **
According to Reynolds Policy 2-16, all faculty are expected to provide student grades using the Grades tool in Canvas. Learn the features of the Gradebook when creating and grading assignments, quizzes and discussions. SpeedGrader will also be covered.
NOTE: Canvas Intro is a prerequisite to this session 

OneDrive (2 Hours)
Faculty & Staff
All college employees have access to Microsoft OneDrive through our Office365 email accounts. OneDrive offers users a simple way to store, sync and share multiple file types with others, create libraries and access through multiple devices. Explore this hands-on training session to learn more.
NOTE: You will use your Reynolds.edu email account to access OneDrive.

SharePoint 365 (2 Hours) Faculty & Staff
SharePoint makes the transition to cloud-based computing with SharePoint 365! This training will cover SharePoint basics for the new user, and the new operational features for the seasoned user. Learn to edit, save and share files, folders and sites. Also covered are permissions, syncing and SharePoint lists. 
NOTE: You will use your Reynolds.edu email account to access SharePoint 365.

Zoom (2 Hours) Faculty & Staff
Zoom is our new, user friendly video communication application available to all employees! Zoom can be used for Online Meetings, Training & Technical Support, Webinars and other Conferencing functions. Zoom replaces Bb Collaborate and offers new options for all employees to communicate across all campuses.
NOTE: Please ensure your MyReynolds username and password is operating prior to attending.

Adobe Pro (2 Hours) Faculty & Staff
Learn the functions of Adobe Pro for creating, editing, exporting and securing PDF documents. Creating Adobe Forms and Digital Signatures will also be covered.
NOTE: Training is required for Adobe Pro installation.

Canvas Intro (2 Hours) Faculty
Learn the necessary features of Canvas, the college's Learning Management System, used for delivering instructional materials, faculty information and grades to students as well as creating engaging virtual learning environments.
NOTE: All faculty are expected to complete Canvas Introduction

Also covered will be Studio, Canvas’s communication tool that allows instructors and students to actively collaborate through video and audio media.
NOTE: Canvas Intro is a prerequisite to this session

New Video - New Training Sessions

New Training Sessions

Adobe Pro (2.5 - 3 Hours) – Learn the functions of Adobe Pro for creating, editing, exporting, securing PDF documents. Creating Adobe Forms and Digital Signatures will also be covered.

Camtasia NEW Version 9 (2 Hours) – Camtasia is a screen capture and editor for video projects. This PDO will cover the processes for pre-production, recording, audio (microphone), editing and publishing a video to desired format (i.e., CD, web, blog, YouTube, etc.)
NOTE: Training is required for the installation of Camtasia

Snagit (1 Hour)
Learn the NEW version of Snagit screen capture software. Explore the processes for grabbing and editing images to use in tutorials, word processing applications and presentations. Snagit has a new video component for quick captures that don’t require editing.
NOTE: Training is required for the installation of Snagit.

Google Drive and Docs (2 Hours)
Google Drive is a file storage, sharing and collaboration service provided with your VCCS email account. This session will cover creating, uploading and sharing files and folders, as well as collaborative editing on documents, spreadsheets, presentations and forms. All faculty, staff and students have unlimited cloud storage on Google drive making it easy to store content and share files.
NOTE: Please make sure you are able to log into MyReynolds PRIOR to attending this session!

TECHNOLOGY TRAINING UPDATES

Navigate Advising – All full-time faculty are expected to complete Navigate Advising training prior to the end of spring semester.
  • 10 sessions are scheduled prior to Spring Break
  • 2 sessions are scheduled for Friday, March 22
  • 4 sessions are scheduled for May 13 & 14
Canvas Intro – As Blackboard expires at the end of spring semester, all courses will be in Canvas beginning with summer classes and moving forward to fall 2019. Learn the basic features of the college's NEW Learning Management System used for delivering instructional materials to students as well as creating engaging virtual learning environments. NOTE: All faculty are expected to complete Canvas Intro and it is a prerequisite to CETL’s Canvas Clinics
